Wild-Wuchs

Editorial team

Wild-Wuchs was born from a simple idea: plant knowledge should not be complicated, superficial, or difficult to access - it should be inspiring, understandable, and practical. Behind Wild-Wuchs are more than 20 years of hands-on experience in natural gardening, vegetable cultivation, fruit growing, and the management of traditional meadow orchards. Over the years, plants have not only been researched but also sown, planted, cultivated, harvested, and observed firsthand. These real-world experiences form the foundation of many of the resources published on Wild-Wuchs. Our goal is to combine reliable plant knowledge with practical gardening experience. Each plant is examined from a holistic perspective, covering topics such as growing conditions, sowing, cultivation, harvesting, propagation, companion planting, plant health, edibility, and animal safety. All content is carefully researched, editorially reviewed, and expert-checked. We draw on botanical reference works, scientific publications, horticultural expertise, and practical gardening experience. Digital research and quality-assurance tools support our editorial process, but all content remains under human editorial oversight and responsibility. We believe gardening is more than just a hobby. It connects people with the seasons, their environment, and the rewarding experience of growing something themselves. Whether on a balcony, in raised beds, in a greenhouse, or in a backyard garden, every plant has its own story to tell. Wild-Wuchs continues to grow every day with new plant profiles, detailed growing guides, botanical illustrations, gardening knowledge, and practical tools for home gardeners. Our mission is to build a trustworthy, independent, and continually expanding knowledge platform dedicated to plants and gardening. For everyone who wants to do more than simply observe nature - and instead grow alongside it.

How our content is produced

How our content is produced

Wild-Wuchs combines structured plant data with editorial presentation. Our workflow makes the origin, checks, and limitations of the content transparent.

  1. Core botanical data and plant names are checked against public sources such as Wikidata, GBIF, and suitable specialist references.
  2. Growing, care, and harvest information is assembled in a structured format and checked for contradictions, missing required fields, and implausible values.
  3. Plant profiles list the public sources used. Guides include an author, publication date, and modification date.
  4. Reader reports are reviewed; confirmed errors are corrected in the source data and published in the next site build.
